THIS BLOGSITE IS PRIMARILY A LOCATION RECORDER / AIDE-MÉMOIRE FOR SOLO ROAD TRIPS AND DOMESTIC TRUCK TRIPS. IT'S ALSO SOMETIMES USED TO LOG OTHER RANDOM ACTS OF LOAFING AROUND.

NONE OF IT IS MEANT TO BE PARTICULARLY INTERESTING.

Loafing - Day 2 - England

Blogging at 22:00 on Wednesday 19th April from intended overnighting spot (right on the Greenwich Meridian) N 53.65518°, W 00.00061° / http://maps.google.com/maps?q=loc:53.65518%2C-00.00061

Wandered round Stone Creek first thing and had an excellent close-up of a short-eared owl hunting in daylight.

Whilst mooching I also found a wallet full of credit cards, a driving licence and cash, which was duly returned to its owner who - it turned out - was in a rental cottage not too far away.

From the creek had a freezing cold (if sunny) ride out in the bike for a couple of hours and then headed to the coordinates I'm intending to stay.

A huge tract of land here is being turned into what looks like a wetland nature reserve (pic) and it's already teeming. Best sightings have been avocets, yellow wagtails, a merlin, my first house martins of the year and - to cap it all - more full-daylight close-ups of a short-eared owl.
