Out and about for a few days to make the most of the settled weather and easing of lockdown restrictions. We're hoping to get a couple of decent bike rides in starting from tomorrow but today's been mainly about getting to the Northumberland National Park area.
At the coordinates shown now (stayed here before) and we've had a pleasant wander out with the bins. Best sightings have been siskins and a dipper. There are also a good few cuckoos about but no actual sightings yet.
We'd hoped to have a whiz out on the bikes late this afternoon but Otterburn moor is completely 'red-flagged' off with the military on manoeuvres: we've even seen a couple of military helicopters landing ominously close by...
