Dumfries & Galloway Trip - Day 1

N 54.43893°, W 03.31642°

Looking at Scafell Pike from near the side of Wast Water. It's big and there are snow patches still on the top. It was quite tough to get to where we are as nearly every road leading to this place has a legal 6'6" width restriction. This excludes absolutely every motorhome currently made. The roads really are ridiculously narrow and twisty, this really is campervan only territory.

Once we found a legal road in, we had a slight incident with a wall whilst squeezing past an oncoming car - the wall lost. At the lakeside, every bit of gravel / grass off the road has a 'No Overnight Staying' sign so we've had to divert slightly from the lake to a tiny road leading back towards the coast where we found a suitable and legal spot.

It is outstandingly beautiful and we've enjoyed an evening of perfect sunny and calm weather - hope it lasts tomorrow for Stuart's highest-dog-in-England bid.
