This first day saw us taking lunch near Guy Martin's house before moving east and having a look at the honeypot grey seal pupping grounds at Donna Nook.
It's pretty cool. Even though the pups have been gone for six weeks or so there were still huge numbers of adults about and it's never a chore to wander around saltmarsh.
Overnighting at all points near the coast around the area is very heavily discouraged with many clear instructions that no caravanning or camping is tolerated.
I can only imagine grungies have knocked the arse out of the area in the past and who can blame locals for wanting to maintain the ambience.
And so, looking for somewhere to spend the evening we swung inland a little bit and found a very quiet spot at the coordinates shown.
Very close by is the redundant church of St Botolph. The interior has been completely gutted but the building and outlying churchyard and cemetery is kept in top-drawer condition. It's an impressive place with some always-thought-provoking war graves and is reputed to be the focus of lots of paranormal activity and attractive to Satanists.
I suppose everyone has to have a hobby.

From the church/truck we've seen roe deer, two barn owls quartering, brown hare, a field hosting far too many mute swans and had a brief encounter with half a dozen waders that just eluded a proper look: they looked a bit like grey plover or knot.
