Inner Hebrides Trip - Day 1 - Scotland

Things to remember:
  • A day of covering ground, but it was pleasant enough in the warm spring sunshine.
  • Lunch at Forestry England's* formal facilities block / picnic spot at the north of Keilder Forest brought back fond memories of gravel racing / riding.
  • The Trossachs were and are resplendent with fresh spring foliage and awesome displays of bluebells.
  • Hugely significant control over overnight parking evident in the Trossachs area, with many prohibitive signs and some of the more obvious hashtag-type van lay-bys physically blocked off.
  • Thank goodness, then, for good ground clearance, four-wheel drive and a temporarily un-barriered steep and rutted Forestry Scotland** track (pic).
* If indeed that's what they're still called today; the name seems to change every year or two in what would appear to be an attempt to stay relevant, inclusive, and to optimistically avoid offending those who crave nothing more than to be offended.
