It was an early start with Emma doing Seaton parkrun, a really nice event with a course along the esplanade and only the seventh time it had been run. I spent some time spotting gulls and ducks out to sea (wigeon) whilst Emma was otherwise engaged trying to prevent Santa bestowing a gift.
After leaving Seaton we drove west along the Jurassic coast and had some excellent views of the cliffs and well known landmarks like Chesil Beach and the Hardy Monument.
We visited Dorset's honeypots some years ago and though we enjoyed them have no urge to revisit, we're happy this time to just bumble around and find some Dorset that doesn't appear in tourist leaflets.
Tonight's camp (coordinates) is an example. Saw a dirt track, went down it, parked up and called it a day. Surrounded by heath, forest and far from the madding crowd.
Christmas eve and all is well.
