Made it to Kitzbuhel by early afternoon. Checked out the bike course; there are some super-scary descents and some serious, serious up-hills. Just for a laugh the organisers have thrown in a few cobbled speed bumps and some cycle paths about as wife as Mary's wife. A course for cyclists: fit and young ones anyway.
Swam in the venue lake as well, cost me €3 blinking 70 though. At least I got to use a locker room and a warm air dryer. It was easily warm enough to swim without a wetsuit, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a non-wetsuit swim come the event.
The race village is being prepared and there are lots of thin and muscly people knocking about. It all made me nervous so I've now retired from the area to a bit of quiet woodland and feel more at home.
Will probably head up to the topsies tomorrow (plenty to choose from) and breathe some rarer air whilst denying the reason I'm here. May go back towards Inzel in Germany or head for the Kimmler waterfall area in Austria. We've been there before and it's pretty awesome.
