Blogging at 22:00 on Saturday 13th July from intended overnighting spot N 52.60730°, W 01.42519° / http://maps.google.com/maps?q=loc:52.60730%2C-01.42519
Late to arrive to the area as the weather's been so grim today there seemed little point in arriving any earlier.
Found a nice quiet spot to overnight pretty easily and, because the rain stopped, took a walk down the Ashby canal.
Came upon a good number of moored narrowboats and in only a few hundred metres endured generators running, an unrestrained barking, snarling German Shepherd dog on the stern of a very shabby 60-footer, chairs, logs and barbeque stuff strewn all over the towpath and more dog shit than I've ever seen in my whole life. It was lovely.
Decent vistas from where I'm hunkered (pic) and it's also, thankfully, scrutter-free.
