Out questing for vans again but stopped off a couple of times to wander about. 1st stop off was near Yate where I saw about a dozen chiffchaffs (first sighting of year) all silent but feeding on birch.

Second stop-off is location shown that proved to be a little gem. Saw my first sandmartin of the year, all alone but looking fit. Also saw and then heard a couple more chiffchaffs.
