Washington Sprint Duathlon

Blogging at 22:30 on Saturday 13th July from N 54.79795°, W 01.55475° / http://maps.google.com/maps?q=loc:54.79795%2C-01.55475

Proper struggle finding this place. It's like Romania round here. On the upside, I found a lake close by with no obvious public access that's just teeming with waterbirds and sand martins.

The spot I'm at is probably as good as it gets for miles around. Seen and heard young tawny owls. Just before turning in I also saw a huge bat quite high above the oak canopy. Don't know the species but it had quite a slow wingbeat.

Tomorrow's will be my first duathlon in more years then I can even remember. Single freewheel, too!
