THIS BLOGSITE IS PRIMARILY A LOCATION RECORDER / AIDE-MÉMOIRE FOR SOLO ROAD TRIPS AND DOMESTIC TRUCK TRIPS. IT'S ALSO SOMETIMES USED TO LOG OTHER RANDOM ACTS OF LOAFING AROUND.

NONE OF IT IS MEANT TO BE PARTICULARLY INTERESTING.

POSTS APPEAR IN DATE ORDER WITH THE MOST RECENT FIRST, BUT NAVIGATING TO SELECTED TRIPS OR FILTERING BY ACTIVITY IS EASILY ACHIEVED BY FOLLOWING THE RELEVANT LINKS.

The event start and transitions are right next to Southport Pier, the start of the TPT. Weird how things come back time and again.

I don't like Southport much but there are some nice wetlands just north of the town and the famous Ainsdale Dunes just to the south. Had potter round both, highlights were avocet, (I think great) egret and stonechat. Lowlight was Pontins.

At the location shown now and intend to kip here. It's been busy with all sorts of farmland birds and gulls, best sightings have been whimbrel and brown hares.

There's a curious magpie tale to tell...
