Superb night on the tops last night and we woke to a splendid frost-scape (pic).

Today has been a day of covering ground, including a call at fellow LD owner, Clive's place (in Woking), to pick up some leisure batteries he's been holding for me.

It was a bit if a crash back to earth to be amongst the hubbub of the 'burbs and an even bigger blow to join the slowly moving car park aka the M25.

In a nutshell, congestion stole the day. By late afternoon, as darkness started to fall, we'd barely cleared London and realising we weren't going to reach anything approaching t'north we baled off the A1M and found a truck-sized verge off the tiny road shown to call home for the night.

It was too dark to spot anything other than a few grey partridges but at least we're now, by late evening, joined by the always-welcome calls of tawny owls.
