Argyll and Bute Trip - Day 6

N 56.09087°, W 05.55545°

Getting out of the camp was no easier than getting in (pic) but we made it with just a few vegetation scuffs to clean off.

A pootle down to the end of the peninsula saw good numbers of red-breasted merganser but not much more.

And so we made our way to Crinan itself and the canal's sea lock. The canal basin is a pretty place with a lot of actively-sea-cruising sailing boats around and about and a couple of old steamers being used as liveaboards. It's also something of a mini honey pot with a hotel and a cafe catering for gongoozlers.
Living aboard the liveaboards may not be as appealing as it may first seem...

We spent a couple of hours in the area altogether and made best use of the towpath. Emma ran and I went out on the bike again. It's a pleasant and fairly unusual towpath with the canal on one side and the estuary on the other.
