Back at the 1km square with least OS features. Spent a nice afternoon at Blacktoft Sands. Saw usual suspects as well as ruff and a water rail. Got cold through sitting about in the hides though.

1km square is pretty desolate and somehow seems more foreboding than when I was here in mid-summer. It seems an age ago that I saw avocets here.
