Inner Hebrides Trip - Day 6 - Scotland

Blogging at 22:00 on Saturday 18th May from intended overnighting spot N 56.62443°, W 05.52667° / http://maps.google.com/maps?q=loc:56.62443%2C-05.52667

Things to remember:
  • Splendid overnighting spot last night. Didn't see or hear another human all night.
  • Did Ganavan Sands parkrun first thing. A tough one in its own right but the heat made it even more of a tactical thing.
  • Covered some ground and took the Corran ferry to head towards current coordinates where I intend to kip. It's on the Kingairloch Estate and potentially slightly trespassy; it's a four-wheel drive / low-ratio box spot.
  • En route spotted red deer (pic). Their proximity to the Kingairloch Estate made me a bit uncomfortable. This is definitely huntin' shootin' fishin' territory and that's the reason I'm happy to thumb my nose with the potentially slightly trespassy thing.
  • Saw a couple of four-spotted chasers from the intended overnighting spot: my first dragonflies of the year. Also, just before bed a red deer stag with velvet still covering his antlers wandered within 50 metres of the camper.
