Overnighting spot. Very spooky.
Things to remember:
Property hunting (again).
Superb showings of whooper swans around the Brow Well area.
Hen harrier and great white egrets also.
Proper explore of all the dead-end roads leading down to the Firth around the Annan / Gretna area. Excellent for geese, gulls and waders.
Finally bottomed out Geltsdale RSPB reserve.
North Pennines - 5 or 6 short-eared owls, about a dozen (possible) mountain hares and a couple of fighting stoats - all caught in headlights.
Geese on the move in after dark over Moors around Cow Green reservoir.
