Blogging at 20:38 on Wednesday 28th October from overnighting spot N 54.99299°, W 03.43189° / http://maps.google.com/maps?q=loc:54.99299%2C-03.43189
Things to remember:
- Pleasant drives through parts of Dumfrieshire that are almost certainly rarely touristed.
- Newtonairds Lodge is pretty impressive at £180,000.
- Merlin, whooper swan and black-tailed godwits all randomly encountered whilst just bumbling about.
- Birdlife around the Solway is just awesome.
- Thousands of geese, wildfowl, gulls and waders came in to roost on the mudflats and saltmarsh in sight of our overnighting spot (coordinates).
