After the considerable Ben Nevis effort we both rested a while while I contemplated the next move. With the weather being so cracking, and being so far from home, it seemed a waste to start heading straight back so I decided we'd head out to the west coast and the sea, and specifically to do so though some of the jaw-dropping scenery out towards Ardnamurchan.

So that's what we did. The early evening sun made the already outstanding scenery like something out of s fairy tale. Just gobsmacking. An hour's drive saw us reach the remains of Tioram Castle, somewhere we've kipped before in the truck.

The evening's been a lazy poddle on the 'beach' and just gazing out over the awesome vista (or being fast asleep in Stuart's case). There were a few birds knocking about including a whimbrel but the best sighting was of a hind roe deer and her this-year's fawn who, unable to see me through the Bongo's pimp glass walked within two feet of me and off up a little lane. A little way up, the hind nonchalantly jumped a four foot fence and ambled into some woods. This left junior with a panicky dilemma and a bit of frantic too-ing and fro-ing before plucking up the courage to go for it. Comically,  it cleared the fence by two feet...mum knew best.
