Very cold in forest last night and surrounded by loads of weird and sometimes quite disconcerting barking and whelps of deer and fox. Plenty of owls too and a really clear sky - good camp altogether.
At Lowestoft Ness now so that concludes our quest to ensure the whippet has been to all four extremities of
mainland UK. Loads of birdwatchers here in spite of this place feeling and looking a bit like Hull on a bad day. Seen a handful of turnstones - not an everyday sighting for me. Loads of gull species too. Unexpectedly also saw starling murmuration right in the middle of town. About 2000 birds at a guess - as good a roost as I've seen in a few years.
